Apple Goes Hollywood By Releasing Trailers For Star-Studded Original TV Shows

Giving Netflix, Amazon Prime, and HBO some serious competition.

Must Watch: ???????? 8/10

Tech giant Apple is gearing up for television, by releasing trailers for two upcoming shows: Carpool Series and Planet of the Apps.

The Carpool Series teaser dropped Monday night and gained much acclaim on the interwebs, following the huge success of James Corden’s Late Late Show viral segment by a similar name. The trailer shows many celebrities singing along to their fave tunes alongside Corden in his car, and seems to be a full show version of the already existing ‘Carpool Karaoke.’

The second Apple show is called ‘Planet of the Apps’ (brilliant name) and looks similar to ‘Shark Tank’ or ‘Dragon’s Den’, but for online apps. The “advisors” are a star-studded crew, featuring, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Alba, and Gary Baynerchuk. Pitchers have 60 seconds to get advisors inspired by their business idea, after which advisors ‘swipe right or left’ and choose the ideas they are interested in.

The concept looks promising, and as notes in the trailer, “Developers are the rockstars of right now.”

It seems like Apple is really putting its game face on in order to rival other streaming services. It’s a good thing for us viewers though – the more shows, the merrier for me on my sofa. Bring it on Apple.

Both series will debut on Apple Music this spring, and we cannot wait to see what they will bring. I’ve got my snacks ready.
