Take My Money: ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ ☕️ 7/10
Have you ever had some guests over for tea and thought, “okay, this is great, but you should leave now”?
Then this is for you.
A company called Miss Havisham’s creates some blunt yet beautiful offensive teacups, featuring cursive writing which reads anything from ‘I could poison you’ to ‘kindly f*ck off.’
Tongue-in-cheek but definitely quite apt sometimes, the colourful tea and coffee sets combine a cheeky humour with classic design “for the lady who speaks her mind.”
Melisa Johnson, the lady behind the offensive teacups, states, “A wise woman once told me, ‘If you got hate in your heart, you gotta let it out.’ By far, our favourite way to release it is by stewing over a scalding cup of tea.”
She kind of has a point.
Johnson continues, “I love the juxtaposition of high brow and low. Here are these delicate and prissy cups that aren’t really what they seem on the outside and neither are most of us. They have a history and they also have spunk.” Perhaps it’s that balance of sophistication and spunk, or just that downright kickass laugh-out-loud idea that a gentle teacup could say something as frank as ‘we hate your baby’ – but we are definitely into these.
From phrases like ‘I hope you choke’ to ‘stop talking’, take a scroll through Miss Havisham’s teacups below. And for when you really want to subtly-not-so-subtly send your guests a message, purchase your faves on the Miss Havisham’s Squareup store.
