You may have had a room with a view before. But you’ve never had a room like this with a view like this before.

Deep in the heart of Kenya, a bird nest hotel sits amongst the stunning landscape, offering unparalleled views of the beautiful eco-safari Segera, on the plateaus of Laikipia.

Known as the Nay Palad Bird Nest, the specially designed hut is inspired by the shape of a bird nest, and allows the lucky guests to look over the savannah in perfect 360 serenity, without another high building in sight.

Designed by architect Daniel Pouzet, the bird nest hotel room spans across two stories, and is shielded by an imaginative interplay of interwoven natural tree branches. Whilst the first floor is fitted with the usual luxury hotel amenities, the second floor consists of a viewing platform/terrace, offering a 360-degree view, and ample swooning space. Guests are given the choice between sleeping indoors or open-air under the stars, with a champagne picnic dinner and romantic lanterns to suit. Also, fittingly, oversized egg-shaped cushions for lounging.

Truly, it’s a hotel experience unlike any other. Watch the giraffes walk by as you sample a breakfast picnic on the terrace, smile at the elephants playing with their young, and spot the occasional leopard lurking between the trees. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy and appreciate nature, all the while seemingly almost kind of blending in.

With room rates starting at $1,150 a night, find out more over on the Segera Retreat website, and dream about a romantic bird’s nest tonight.

(I mean, can you imagine having this as your ~Honeymoon Nest~ with bae? #Goals.)
