It’s like they’re the James Bond of food delivery services.
British online food delivery giant Deliveroo is bringing some action to England’s beaches by providing food delivery services on jet-skis.
Nope, we have not just entered a super cool action movie sequence. This is real.
Bringing good old Five Guys burgers or Prezzo spaghetti to hungry beach-goers in Bournemouth, Deliveroo unveiled the service over the weekend, ensuring nobody has to go to the beach without a picnic.
The company especially trained a group of delivery men to use the jet-skis, and even though there are only a few of them available at most times, it’s still a pretty rad way to have your food brought to you.
The way it works is that hungry user picks what they want to eat via an online app or the Deliveroo website, and this order is then accepted by their chosen restaurant. Once the food is ready, a delivery person onboard a jet-ski comes to pick it up, before putting it into a waterproof (very important) backpack. He then jet skis to the hungry customer with all the swag, and delivers the grub in so. much. style.
Dinner and a show? Uh yes please.
Yknow that happy face you make when you see your food coming in a restaurant? Yeah, just imagine watching it jet-ski into the shore to you. #Amazing.
Whilst there is no extra cost to use the jet-ski delivery service, there are currently only three delivery people trained to bring food via water. Therefore there may be a bit of a wait.
(But something tells us it is very, very worth it.)
A Deliveroo spokesperson has said in a statement, “Knowing that so many of us enjoy the beach at this time of year presented us with the perfect opportunity to trial our jet-ski deliveries, making sure customers didn’t miss the last rays of sunshine while enjoying delicious dishes straight from our restaurant partners.”
Oh Deliveroo, you.
Whilst the service is only on trial this month, if successful the company aims to spread the jet-ski delivery to more beaches across England next year.
Well then… we finally have an excuse to head to the beach and eat lot’s of food. Yay!
(Like we needed another one.)
