Take Me There: 🎮 🎮 🎮 🎮 🎮 🎮 🎮 7/10
Have you ever wanted to take a break from life and just sit in a cosy hotel room and game the night away?
A gaming hotel has opened in Taiwan, and it has been specifically designed to meet the needs of avid players and hardcore computer gamers.
Described as the first e-sports themed hotel in Asia, iHotel in Chungli Taiwan prides itself in being a bit of a paradise for people who love to kick back and sign into the world of online gaming.
Whilst the hotel features many of the common staples (cosy beds, marble bathroom, air conditioning), the rooms in particular have been furnished with gaming needs in mind. Each room comes with two 32-inch monitor computers placed side by side on a desk, with special DXRacer gaming chairs, made to accompany gamers most comfortably for hours and hours of play. The gaming systems themselves feature i5-7400 processors and 16GB of RAM.
And with a free minibar, 55-inch 4K Ultra HD TV, and Wi-Fi, there’s no true reason to EVER leave the room.
However, if guests do want to venture downstairs, the gaming hotel features many more opportunities to indulge in play. For one, the elevator that takes guests downstairs plays the tune of the Imperial March of Star Wars. And upon arriving at the lobby level, guests can partake in larger tournament-style games in the designated group gaming area.
Really, it sounds like any gaming geek’s dream come true.
Yet if you thought this hotel was all play and no romance, you thought wrong. Booking.com actually notes that the hotel is particularly popular with couples.
Who would have thought?
