This Artist Gives Pop Culture Movies A Fabulous High Fashion Makeover

Regina George in Dior, Carrie Bradshaw in Gucci, and Leo DiCaprio in Commes des Garcons

If you’ve ever wondered what the likes of Clueless Cher and Regina George would wear in 2017, wonder no more.

Artist and designer Benjamin Seidler is giving pop culture movie icons brilliant and super trendy high fashion makeovers – with looks taken straight from the runway and our favourite fashion bloggers.

Donning Dior’s “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirts or Saint Laurent’s iconic red fur heart jacket, Seidler combines fierce fashion with film. And the results are absolutely fabulous.

Taking runway couture and dressing our favourite TV and movie characters, Seidler has just the right sense for fashion fan fiction. And everyone from the high profile industry insider to the enlightened Instagram scroller who comes across his feed – is loving it.

In conversation with Vogue, the artist explains, “I’ve watched every episode of Sex and the City at least 20 times and can recite them word for word. The collages are a way for me to keep the series and films I like current.”

And current they definitely are. Oddly fitting and gorgeously assembled, Carrie Bradshaw in Gucci’s latest or a young Titanic Leo in Comme des Garcons may sound so wrong, but just looks so right.

Giving these iconic figures a seriously fresh 2017 makeover, check out some of Seidler’s work below. You’ll definitely recognise a scene or two.
