We’ve seen paintings re-imagined as hipsters, but what if antique stone statues starting picking up on the trend too?
What if the ancient greek gods started wearing rolled-up capris and plaid shirts or the goddesses sported lace bralets and skater dresses and crop tops?
Artist and photographer Léo Caillard has come up with a series of hipster statues – featuring famous statues of the Louvre museum in modern-day clothes.
Turning gods into good ol’ Instagram stars, the playful series features everything from denim button-downs to selfie-taking shades-bearing characters. Intriguingly enough, it all fits very, very well.
Taken from Caillard’s ‘Hipsters in Stone’ series I and series II, take a look through these hipster statues below, and find your OOTD inspiration.
