Take Me There: 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 9/10
If you’ve always considered yourself a bit of a mermaid, or any other magical creature of the sea, you need to see this hotel.
More specifically, you need to see this shell shaped pool.
Glistening in the sun and undulating in shape like waves on a tropical shore, this stunning sea-themed pool is a must-visit for anyone who has a thing for mermaids. And for the ocean. And for pools. And for holidays.
Located on a stretch of idyllic beach on the quiet Vietnamese island of Phu Quoc, the shell shaped pool is part of the JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay resort there. It sits directly on the white sand beach, between swaying palms and breezy good vibes.
I mean, we can already totally imagine ourselves having cocktails and catching some rays out here.
However, the dreamy poolside is just one of the many beautiful touches the hotel has to offer. Amongst light and lavish interior design, guests can choose to stay in rooms, suites, or villas, and enjoy bites and bellinis at one of the many bars and restaurants available. In keeping with the surreal feel, there’s also an Alice in Wonderland-inspired spa, for when you’re feeling a little mad. (Madly in love with this place, that is.)
Designed by Bill Bensley, the resort reflects Vietnam’s colonial past, with French colonial touches in decor and educational artefacts. It’s an oasis of intrigue and discovery, and has already been awarded notable prizes for its hospitality and style.
And it makes sense. I mean, with pools and views like that, who wouldn’t love it here?

Sigh. It feels almost a little too good to be true.
A little like mermaids themselves.
Let’s book a holiday to Vietnam?
