This Thai Fruit Carving Art Will Put Your Food Chopping Skills To Shame

These are freakin’ fruitin’ fantastic

Vegans, vegetarians, and anyone who has ever eaten fruit and veg: you’re never going to look at your 5-A-Day the same way again.

Thai fruit carving is the art of creating intricate designs within edibles using a sharp knife and some serious skill.

Cr: Gaku

Japanese artist Gaku has beautifully mastered this art, as he turns the likes of banana, broccoli, and aubergine into truly incredible miniature worlds of pattern and design. Playing with geometry and sculpture, the young carver extraordinaire turns regular fruit and veg into fun fruit and veg. Through serious makeovers and clever re-shaping, some of this food-turned-food-art will really make you do a double take.

Have a look at some of Gaku’s creations below, and never look at your fresh produce aisle in the same way ever again.

Next time you merely slice up that avocado, maybe pep it up a little with an extra slice here and there.
