What we’re about to show you looks like something straight out of a daydream.

Russian photographer Kristina Makeeva has captured the daily mass launch of hot air balloons in the Cappadocia region in Turkey, and it is truly magical.

Cappadocia is a region in Turkey known for its intriguing volcanic landscape, and extensive cave monasteries, some of which date back to the the 1st century B.C. Stone pillars mark the historic land, many of which have been carved to create small rock shelters. However, like a breeze of the present into the past, the area is also known for it’s daily mass hot air balloon launch, where the big floaters rise into the skies and fill the scene with specks of colour against the Turkish sunset.

Makeeva’s photographs capture this magic in all it’s mesmerising shine, like a page out of a fairytale or a scene straight out of a Wes Anderson movie.

Take a scroll and a stroll through the colourful moments captured by Makeeva below, you’re going to feel all kinds of dreamy.
